The purpose of the Dean of Student’s Office is to serve you, the Wayne State University student, and to provide you with a variety of services that will help you throughout your college career. We want to help you get involved at WSU. We have over 190 student organizations you can participate in, and a great number of exciting activities and events happening throughout the year. We have many functions within our office, but our goal remains the same—to serve all students within our diverse population; so, stop by and get to know us. We’re her to help you!

The WSU Honors Program provides a community of scholars within a large urban research institution. Honors' goal is informed citizenship as the basis for academic excellence in a diverse, global setting. The Honors experience is founded on four pillars: Community, Service, Research, and Career.

The Office of Metropolitan Programs and Summer Sessions is responsible for off-campus credit courses and degree programs offered by Wayne State University schools and colleges, and coordinates the summer sessions. We represent a diverse continuing education unit—one that offers credit courses, distance-learning programs, travel study and operates six off-campus centers at convenient locations throughout Metropolitan Detroit. Students may register for and attend classes close to work or home. Courses carry full university credit and many can be used to complete Wayne State University degree and certificate requirements.

The mission of the Office of International Students and Scholars is to support and enhance the educational, cultural and social experiences of international students and scholars at Wayne State University. The office aims to serve as the primary link for international students and scholars to the university, community, federal government, and public and private agencies and organizations. In addition, OISS strives to promote a positive cross-cultural environment through international education and exchange, and by serving as the gateway to the world through international and cross-cultural educational programs provided to the university and surrounding community. The Office for Teaching and Learning promotes excellence in teaching in the University at all levels. It supports individual faculty members in the development of instructional skills. OTL staff conduct workshops and seminars, observe classes, and assist in the drafting of teaching portfolios and in the development of instructional technology

The Student Academic Success Summit is an annual event sponsored by the Office of the Provost and the Office of Undergraduate Programs. Each year focused on a new theme.
