The President and the Provost have committed top priority support and resources to the improvement of retention at WSU and to the Faculty Task Force on Student Retention.  This task force is made up of two committees: the Liaison Committee and the Advisory Committee. The Liaison Committee is representative of WSU's schools and colleges. Each member acts as a liaison to their college level retention committee. The liaisons were nominated by the deans of each school or college. The Advisory Committee is made up of faculty volunteers who are passionate about improving WSU's retention rate.

The President has asked these committees to consider both faculty involvement in the retention effort and to also provide inside-perspective on barriers to retention and the facilitation of retention across the University and its policies.
